My last layout from Echo Park Capture Life

Well I managed to salvage the paper from the layout I did not like.  I am quite happy with how this layout turned out.  It will be perfect for one of those awesome pictures that tells the story all by itself!

What I did with my EchoPark Capture Life Kit

I managed to get 9 layouts that I like out of this kit.  And I have paper left for one more layout.  I did a layout…but I really do not like it…so I will salvage what paper I can and make a layout I love.

Here are the starting points lot the layouts.  I all add pictures about a little getaway with the family and then finish off with adding addition twine or thread for texture, maybe some brads, and additional stickers or punched shapes to fill in any trapped space.

Here is what I have left over from the kit.  Surprisingly I have a lot of letter stickers left to add titles to some layouts after the photos go in.

Some layouts I did with a group of friends on the weekend.

I had lots of fun completing scrapbook challenges with some friends on the weekend.  Here are some of the layouts that I finished.

Fathers Day Book

This is the best fathers day book I have ever seen.  Follow the link and choose to print two pages per page and set size to 35%.  This printed off lovely for me.

DIY your own flair's/badges for scrapbook pages and cards.

I just ordered a whack of epoxy stickers.  Contact me if you would like some.  They come in sheets of 20 clear stickers.  I added my own free printables that I found online.  Fun and easy.

I tried using liquid glass and all that I ended up with was a mess and embellishments that cracked or got wrecked with bubbles and sticky icky touches.  I love how professional these look and at a fraction of the price of what you would buy!  A flair or badge will run you $1 a piece plus shipping and tax.  These work out to less than $0.50 a piece and you can customize it to your own liking.

Campbell River Scrap and Chat Challenge for March 9

Here is my take on this weeks scrapbook challenge.  I definitely do not love it yet…but I think it will look a lot better once the photo's and journalling are added.

I definitely love my epoxy stickers that just arrived today.  I have been busy making lots of fun new badges to use on all my pages.  Way more economical than buying badges and flair buttons…plus you can customize them to fit your pages.

Third try was the winner for me.  I decided the left side of the layout was too distracting… and the more i added the worse it got because all the pattern paper on the side really is the embellishment and therefore this becomes a case where less is more.  Then I went back to basics and noticed that I picked papers I loved, but I mixed white with cream based papers.  Big mistake as I seldom like the combo.  I also limited my colour scheme.  Now I think the eye will focus on the photos and I can use one of the squares for my journalling…

My second stab at it is below.  I thought perhaps removing two of the embellishment areas would help with the design.  Then I grouped everything together…ahhhh….

This was my first stab at it.  I think it is better than my second stab.

Cards Cards and more Cards.
